What is the difference of chickens living outdoors 24 hours every day?
When we have the hens living freely outdoors, 24 hours, every day, they are healthy and live in their natural environment.
The sun helps them grow strong bones, and the grass and natural food, like bugs and crawling bugs, supplement their diet with the best nutrition for this species, designed by Nature.

Why is the low stocking density important? We have less than 250 hens per ha
With less than 250 hens per hectare, compared to the industry norm of 10,000 hens per hectare, Grass Valley eggs are different in their quality and welfare of the animals.
With low density farming, the animals do not feel stress about access to feed and water, and they do not exhibit aggressive behavior to each other.
Low density also ensures there is fresh green grass for all hens, and thus they scratch outdoors all day in a healthy environment, and naturally prevents worm infection and other diseases that come from keeping the hens in a dense farming system.
